I cringe when I watch Glittereyes but it's a fascinating glimpse into another world. Most of us are nice people with at least some education and come from families where we were taught how to speak properly and how to interact with society, but she's like someone who crawled out of a sewer after a decade-long drug induced coma. I don't even mean to insult, it's an honest observation.
If I were going to undertake the role of YT beauty guru, I would invest in a good camera and get my lighting perfect, learn to edit my videos, and make sure that my set was attractive. I'd research a product and the company and plan what I was going to say before I turned the camera on, with an eye towards being both informative and entertaining. I would speak clearly and using proper grammar. I would have arranged my hair so that I didn't have to have my hands in it for the duration of my video, and my makeup would be fresh. My shirt would be clean. I would arrange a sitter or wait until my children were in bed if I had any. I would also make sure my cat was not walking around on my filthy kitchen counters in the background.
I think she was too messed up to bother with education and manners and proper grooming and doesn't understand how to interact with people outside her demographic. In her world, threats of physical violence are the norm. She has neither the intelligence or life skills to think her way out of a confrontational situation. Lying is acceptable. She thinks that we should give her some credit for reforming but she made the choice to do drugs and for that I have neither pity nor respect.
She made up the PR business, and is unaware of how transparent her fictions are to her viewers who are in the working world. I find that it is her extreme cluelessness that makes her so much fun. She claims, above, to have a rich husband, but has admitted that her son is in the free school lunch program. If she were to get her act together and learn how to speak and behave, I'd quit watching.
Oh, and I honestly believe that most, if not all, of the companies she has contacted have been deceived in some way as to persuade them to send her products. The beauty industry is about magic, promises and transformation, not a dingy dirty house lacking interior decoration, babies babbling in the background, and hairy pits.
I have days when I hate my job, or my boss, or lament not being able to buy as much as I would like, but I can watch a Jenna video and suddenly my life is a lot better.
