Alright, QueenBeeuty, or Kalel. I used to really like Kalel and still like her and watch her videos, but after all her stupid drama happened, a couple of questions have been raised. First of all, for those unaware of her drama, she made a video confessing a couple of white lies she made, she got a lot of support but also a lot of hate, and then deleted all her videos. Some of the lies she confessed included "Kalel" not being her birth name (she says she's legally changed it, though), shes actually a freshman in college, not a junior, and she switched the nationality of her parents. I think she felt compelled to come out with her lies because of all the bullshit Elizabethblair and Lisaelle have been making us put up with and she felt it would be better for her to come out with it herself instead of someone else calling her out on it. Obviously she was going to get some hate from it, I dont see how she couldn't have seen that coming. but ANYWAY, along with that drama, she also told her subscribers that she wanted to move to LA to pursue acting, and ever since then, people have been questioning her video-making motives. She also got a lot of shit when she said something to Aubrey, Fafinettex3, about her deleting her videos. Aubrey deleted hers, claiming it was a hacker, when in reality it was likely that she just didn't want to go through all her videos and include FTC info (which I dont think people have to do anyway, but whatever). Kalel said that was bullshit and blah blah and well.. she had just done the same thing.. many people think she was jealous that Aubrey was receiving support in a situation that Kalel didn't.
Well anyway, that was all a month or two ago, but recently, she's been tweeting bigger gurus frequently, such as ShaneDawson, and since Elizabethblair has been talking to WhatadayDerek, Kalel has suddenly taken to flirting with him as well. She also freaked out that TheEllenShow was following her, but TheEllenShow follows everyone who follows them, soo.. but whatever, people think shes now just trying to gain popularity to make her acting transition easier.
I also think its kind of weird that she posts pics of her in her bathing suit.. i mean, if you just bought a new bathing suit, I could see posting a pic to show everyone, but she said someone encouraged her to do it (Whatthebuck? or something? i think..). I think she was just fishing for compliments.
Another reason as to why people have been questioning her motives is her recent BFF friendship with Elizabethblair and Lisaelle. In her original blog (she deleted it when she deleted her videos) she was commenting on the whole situation about Lisaelle and Elizabethblair being liars and kind of ridiculing them for how they were handling it.. even though I think Kalel handled her drama BETTER than Lisaelle and Elizabethblair, she still doesnt really have the right to chastise them for it. HOWEVER, luckily, someone had screen shots of Kalels old blog and graciously made a new blog so that everyone could see what Kalel used to think about Lisaelle and Elizabethblair. After reading that and then hearing talk about how Kalel wants to spend her 21st birthday in LA with ElizabethBlair (who would be turning 17 at the same time)... seems like somethings not right there. She knows ElizabethBlair is becoming more popular every day on YT (unfortunately) and it seems like Kalel is trying to use Elizabethblair to make herself more popular.

As far as "gurus" go, I really enjoy MichellePhan and JPMetz. Michelle just seems like a chill girl - the pretty girl in school who you thought might've been a bitch, but turns out to be super sweet. And she's a video game nerd, which earns her points in my book. Even if she does kind of promote her line in her videos, she created that line herself and travels back and forth around the globe to approve of products, etc. I believe she also packages them herself. So.
And JPmetz is just funny. Her humor gets a little old on occasion but her attitude is what really makes the videos. I lol when she yells at the camera. She doesn't take make up too seriously. I think that's how it should be. Oh, and when Molly made that really offensive comment about some girl's dead father on Twitter (something to the effect of "It's your fault he died in a car accident when you were a child"), JPMetz personally went to one of her videos and told her she was scum because of it. I respect that.

I think Elle and Blair don't want people referring to them as their real names (or even mentioning it) is because they see a separation between the two - "Elle" and "Blair" are glamorous YouTube girls. Lisa and Elizabeth might be totally different in real life. People who create stage names - even if it's just for security - also tend to create stage "personas", sometimes unintentionally. Not to go too "psychology class" on you, but they really might act in a completely different way off camera then on (even in BlogTV). I've never met them in person so I couldn't tell you.
However, that doesn't explain why they let their real names to be used in the press. They might've slipped up once and told someone, and then every media outlet afterwards just Googled their real names ("Elle and Blair real names" is one of the first Google suggestions, for obvious reasons).
I'm not trying to defend them, because I (nor anyone else here) will probably never know the real reason two strangers on YouTube did something. The threatening to sue thing seems kind of ridiculous, though.

Young for the corporate world is 22 fresh out of college and if you play your cards right by the time you are 26 you are set. Basically 22 to about 26 is your chance to prove yourself. From there you should have a great background good enough to go to any company you want and get a high paying job doing what you want.
I know this because I worked as a recruiter before for huge corporations everything from corporate to entertainment so I was the one who hired people and I know what companies want.

5:52...no. Just, no. Every job most certainly does not offer benefits, and 10 dollars an hour is unusual. Minimum wage is around 7 dollars. Not enough to live on, but that's how it is. If you don't like where you are by mid-twenties, it's because you already had your entry level chance and are taking it slow or it's because the employment system is a joke (which it is) and layoffs have fucked things up for you. The reason people say you need to take drastic changes is because they're idiots who subscribe to the concept that if you're not doing well it must be your fault (a peculiarly American perception, I might add). Because the normal path is job..mortgage..children. You have to sell your soul for this shit by the mid-twenties.

Well maybe I lucked out but I have worked hard my entire life. I have been working since I was 16. I come from a single parent home and I guess seeing my mother struggle to pay the bills and support me was enough motivation to know I never wanted to live life like that. So I made sure to make myself a great career and life so that I could do and have anything I want and it worked and I didnt have to scam anyone or sell crap to 12 year olds to get there.
Money is definatley not everything.

The reason they export a lot of dirty work overseas is because they charge people pennies and can treat them like slaves. Fashion is particularly a terrible industry. Tons of money goes into advertising and exploitation and I couldn't even begin to tell you the waste of natural space, paper, electricity it is. I trust you have compassion but the problem is in how things are structured, not how people can go about their tasks everyday. But one way to help is to be aware that not everyone can have a straight shot to success, even if they try--that way you can avoid making it seem like it's completely their fault for having so little when celebrities and CEO's make more money than they will ever need. My boyfriend is smart, has worked as long as you, has a college degree that he fought for--yet is still between jobs, not to mention careers. It just doesn't always work out through reasoning of "working hard equals success", although it helps.
I'm not trying to make anyone change their lives, but it upsets me when they take for granted that people can have what they want if they try hard enough. Luck plays into it so much.
