Well folks, we're 4 days away. On December 1st, a new FTC law will go into effect REQUIRING bloggers and youtubers to disclose all information about products that the publisher mentions including; if the product was given for free, whether they are speaking from their own personal experience with the product, if they have any affiliation with the company, and whether or not they are receiving money for reviewing/mentioning the product. Failure to do so could result in an $11,000 fine.
This is one video that kind of sums up this new law while also offering some opinions on it;
For me, I feel like this new law unfortunately hurts smaller bloggers/youtubers. It is kind of excessive to include ALL information about everything youve used during a makeup tutorial and even include information on clothes youre wearing or things seen in the background if they have particular logos on them. All new, starting-out gurus obviously are not sponsored by anyone (well, not usually, anyway..) and it would be really sad for someone to report them for not mentioning, say for example, a brush they used but didn't think about listing because it was bought with their own money on their own decision. I for one do not intend on calling out everyone who fails to include all of this information. HOWEVER, I think this law is long overdue for people such as "Blair" and "Elle" and all other popular people on youtube. By not telling their subscribers that they were paid (hundreds of dollars) for reviews and even LYING about it when confronted, they are being completely dishonest to their naive, younger subscribers and it is just not right. Many people argue with me, stating that "if you dont like them, dont watch them" or "if you dont trust their reviews, dont buy the product", yeah OBVIOUSLY, but the FTC apparently also finds these actions wrong, thus bringing into effect this law.

Ok so glittereyes82 isn't following the rules because on some of her videos she isn't putting the disclaimer in BUT she did clearly say in a recent video that she DOES get paid for reviewing products then she started going on about how she went too school to review products and blah blah blah. Also, she says she is an EX drug addict. So it looks like she isn't trying to hide anything. We can give her some credit there. Other than her being trashy, isn't really much material there. And sometimes i'm not gonna lie I stop at big lots and dollar stores to pick up some items and then I get surprised at some of the good stuff they have in those places so I wont fault her for that either. I'm confused about glittereyes82's review about the Konad and wowsocool.com. She repeats again and again that she hasn't used it yet. How can you review something you haven't even used? Is that even possible? I have ordered from wowsocool.com tons of times but this 'review' turned me off so much I don't even want to order from them anymore. Ingredients
1 cup potato, diced
1 cup onion, diced
1 cup celery, diced
1 cup carrot, diced
1/3 cup melted margarine
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup half-and-half
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 cups chicken, cooked and chopped
2 pie crusts (either store bought or your own recipe)
Directions
1Preheat oven to 400°F.
2Saute onion, celery, carrots and potatoes in butter for 10 minutes.
3Add flour to sauteed mixture, stirring well Cook one minute stirring constantly.
4Combine broth and half and half.
5Gradually stir into vegetable mixture.
6Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thickened and bubbly.
7Stir in salt and pepper; add chicken and stir well.
8Pour into shallow 2 quart casserole dish and top with pie shells.
9Cut slits to allow steam to escape.
10Bake for 40-50 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and filling is bubbly and cooked through.

Ok, the thing with selling for Avon/Mark... I looked into this myself once.
When you start up you pay a tiny fee (I think less than $10) and they give you some books and free items to help you promote their lines. That video she did where she showed all the mark items? I'm pretty sure she got a lot of those that were still in the box and were newer for free.
Then, you get a portion of the sales from the things you sell from your books or web purchases made from your "store" on their site. For yourself, you get deeply discounted items... I think it's at least 50% off, I don't know for sure. Since you're not acting as the middleman selling them to a third person, you don't have to add that markup to the price that you would if you were selling to someone else.
If you have a really awesome friend as a rep, they might actually let you get discounts, too.
And if you don't sell much, I think you have to repay the small fee to be able to be a representative every so often.
Also, the idea of Kai selling her nasty half-used blushes and shit on makeupalley is pretty scarey.
I dont know much about Mark or Avon but I can tell you that Mary Kay reps are annoying as fuck. One approached myself and a friend while out shopping one day, kept asking us to give her our info so she could call us and talk about getting some free facial or some shit. I gave her my freelance card and she called me like 5 times, left about 3 voicemails and kept asking me for my friend's number. It got so fucking annoying.
