The Sunlove company has been known for posting ads on Craiglist offering anywhere from $100 - $1000 for a review, so we assumed Elle had received a payment closer to the thousand dollar range, but $4000.. fuck. How COULD you give anything other than a positive review after demanding so much money?
I couldn't be happier that some of the recent news articles featuring these fraud sisters have been starting to call them out. For so long, their naive subscribers has insisted on defending them so hopefully some of these articles will help them discover that Elle and Blair really don't give a shit about their subscribers; just like everyone has been saying on this blog for months.
Even though the fraud sisters have claimed time after time that they make videos purely for their subscribers and would do it even if they weren't getting paid, these articles tell a different side. In addition to making money from youtube, Elle has also recently signed up for sponsored tweets, in which she receives $400 every time she tweets about one of the sponsored topics.
Another one of their recent bullshit scams includes the video that Blair put up today, featuring Miranda Cosgrove;
"I was already going to be in the area visiting family" - uhh ACTUALLY, you tweeted that you were going to be in Atlanta specifically for business..
Blair also tweeted something to the extent that her and Miranda were friends, just hanging out, nothing business about it..

i cant stand phanny and i have noooooo idea how she ever got so popular on youtube. her makeup skills are not far above average and neither is the way she looks. i find her so boring i cant even sit through her videos it feels like a lecture type video that i would see in class.
Hate her or love her, she has lasted the longest so far. Her first video was uploaded early 2007 and 3 years later she is still going strong. Panacea has lost her cool, so has Pursebuzz, Fafinettex3 and Xsparkage. Phanny has outlasted all of them and even beat out the new comers like Elle, Blair and Kalel. She is doing something right, and seems like the only guru that has done real work outside of youtube.
I think the reason why michelle has lasted so long is because she keeps evolving herself, while maintaining her original format. Her new videos are fancier, but they still have the same element from her older videos. I've noticed many of the other gurus are still doing the same thing over and over, so people eventually get tired of it. Also, anyone else noticed that michelle doesn't flood her channel with hauls and reviews? She is one of the longest lasting guru, but has the fewest amount of videos.
I feel the same way about the qvc sisters. Their makeup skills are probably as good as mine (which is to say not very haha) and I see nothing interesting about them. Why they have hundreds of thousands of subsribers and views is beyond me.
phannys first video was uploaded over 3 years ago and look at blair after just a bit over a year already has
500,000 subscribers and almost 70% of the number of views as phanny.

Doing makeup for a small fashion show using NYX is not considered being a makeup artist. Being the youngest makeup artist? What a joke. It's just publicity. Michelle has worked with Michael Kors and on real models like Sasha Pivovarova, Chanel Iman along with Dick Page, a prestigious makeup artist. She's also repped by Jed Root. Jed reps Laura Mercier. nuff said.
Secondly, their business is really their mom's store. It's just slapped with Glitzy Glam on it and they sell shitty mugs and boxers. They don't actually own the business. Michelle on the other hand worked with a dermatologist and created a skin care line. Big difference.
Michelle and the sisters have both been on seventeen magazine, but Michelle has been in Vogue, Nylon and more. She doesn't need to interview celebs because that's considered shit job. No real famous people interview famous people.

i dont know why, but the QVC sisters just come off as cheap and tacky. even with their chanel bags and balenciagas. it just looks like two midwestern girls trying to pull off high fashion. you either got it or you dont. same goes for dulce. even if they were decked out in designer duds, it would look so tacky on them.

The only reason I even watched Elle or Blair when I first starting watching makepup gurus was the same reason I watched any of them. I like getting ideas from people and I like seeing what they buy.
But when I want actual TIPS and tutorials to try and follow I watch pixiwoo or makeupgeek. Actual makeup artists which Elle & Blair are not.
