i know multiple people with severe disabilities - down syndrome, extreme emotional distress, autism, etc. - that have been able to work a minimum wage job at a grocery store.
safeway, king soopers, and the like will hire anyone (regardless of any disabilities or drug addictions you have, haha). there is absolutely no reason why kai cannot have a job when there are numerous others worse off than her who do.

The only type of job Kai could get is something like the aforementioned McDs or grocery store. i have never seen anyone as lazy as kai. no motivation do to anything, perfectly content with sitting in her bedroom all day, everyday. no friends, no social life. just sits in her bedroom watching tv shows and acting like the characters are real and her friends, going to walmart, cvs, the outlets and other cheap clothing stores, and of course wendy's. i doubt she even goes to curves. if she actually went she'd lose weight, since she sits around all damn day any exercise, even a little, would boost her metabolism and she'd lose some weight.
Kai could get a job. If I was paying taxes for kai to claim disabiltiy checks and to sit at home and do nothing but make videos all day then I would be pissed because she has no serious disability. She may or may not have some kind of mild autism/social disorder BUT to be honest I just think she is like that because of not having enough social experience as a child. She could easily get a job at a grocery store, clothing store etc and I think it would give kai alot of confidence she could make new friends and gain vitial expereience that she needs in life.
