this is why I still enjoy misschievous. i know some people see her as stuck-up, but face it, she's one of those few gurus that's honest, recognizes and calls out fraud in the "beauty community", and still creates new, interesting tutorials that aren't the same damn look over and over again (i'm looking at you kaikaiz).

blair actually joined youtube first! july 8, 2008! and she has already said in interviews that youtube was elles thing until one day elle showed her how to join and use it and she decided to post a video.
blair joined first and elle joined the next day. or it could have been that blairs account was set up just before midnight and then elles right after midnight so it was only an hour away.
i truly believe there is some online marketing genious behind all of this who planned it all way before even meeting elle and blair. he or she came up with a huge plan and then blair and elle got pitched to him by an agent and he liked their look and the fact that they were sisters (double his percentage) and she/he thought it could fit into his plan and signed a contract with them.
im thinking their youtube partnership earnigs have had this person taking a percentage from day 1 as well since they created the concept.
She's extremely talented. I just don't think she needs those cheesy video intros. I've seen other people mention it before, and I agree that it cheapens her videos. She's so talented, she doesn't need to do that for views.

Ive heard that blairs channel was created before elles before, but I never really payed any attention to it. I normally just thought, oh, well maybe blair made an account but never posted videos on it until later on.
But then I remembered her video where she was like, elle came into my bedroom in the middle of the night and she was like, OMG you have to start making videos. So she created my account for me and I couldnt think of a name so I chose juicystar because I love Juicy Couture.

Agreed. I know there are plenty of QVC entries, but I think one specifically addressing this particular lie about "how they came to youtube" is needed. Like it's been said over and over, not everyone reads the comments or wants to wade through them to find the juicy gossip. So having an entry on the main page for everyone who visits the site to see is necessary. This means nothing of course unless Camille sees this :|
Yeah, the set/actor theory is a bit much. They're just two rich, spoiled girls that wanted to be famous. They had their stage mom get them an agent and then they sold out. That's pretty much it.

elle did start making videos just to become famous and make money. and if anyone is behind them making decisions for them it's their dad. he seems smart and business oriented so im sure he's giving them career advice. and they got a hollywood agent, who helps them get all these opportunities to get their name out there. it's the agent's JOB!
the fake name for safety thing still makes no sense, so i don't know why minions bother arguing it. if putting your FACE on the internet in hundreds of videos viewed millions of times by hundreds of thousands of people doesn't jeopardize your safety, throwing in your first name certainly won't. especially something as inconspicuous as "lisa" or "lizzy". in addition to that, posting your whereabouts on twitter to thousands of followers for an impromptu meet-up seems to be A-ok in their books, (and I'm referring to before they started hiring venues and guards).

If anything, they changed their personalities to fit a certain "character" that would attract viewers. The purpose of having an agent is to line up opportunities. She probably told the Fowlers to change their image and ditch the accent. But I don't believe that they're paid actors.

I think the names are just part of the characters they were trying to portray in their videos. It's really odd watching Blairs first videos... She was nothing like she is now. You can see her gradually changing from Elizabeth into "Blair"
